Celebrate the 1st Annual National Tabby Day with the Release of Making the Most of All Nine Lives

I've gone absolutely feral over this cute little photo book
The Extraordinary Life of Buffy the Cat.

Sandy Robins and Paul Smulson have produced an amazingly fun look at Buffy and his antics.

Buffy's cat-daddy, Paul Smulson, did not (I repeat, NOT!) Photoshop or modify the photos in any way.  All the pictures were taken under real, true circumstances with no software manipulation!  (By the way, he's also a dentist.)

Sandy's captions are hilarious.  Well done!!

My favorite is the one where Buffy is fishing at the lake with his friends.  Why?  Because my cats always follow me over to the lake when I take the dogs for a swim (it's a safe, traffic-free walk, don't worry).  The cats actually like the water more than the dogs do!  But that's a story for another post.

But wait!  There's more!  There's an event!  An event, I tell you!  And if you are anywhere near New York City, you won't want to miss it.  Here are the deets:

What: 1st Annual National Tabby Day – Cat Adoption Event and Book Launch
WhenSaturday, April 30th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET
Where: Bideawee Animal Shelter
410 E 38th Street
New York, NY 10016

Motivated by the release of Buffy the Cat’s new book, Making the Most of All Nine Lives: The Extraordinary Life of Buffy the Cat (Triumph Books, April 2016), the National Tabby Day festivities will kick off at one of NYC’s most reputable shelters, Bideawee, on April 30th. Adoptions will run from 10 am – 6 pm, with a special celebration from 12-2 p.m. The celebration will feature the official book launch with author Sandy Robins, with drinks and treats for both two and four-legged attendees. Anyone adopting from the shelter on the 30th will be given a generous starter kit with items for their new pet from the event’s sponsors as well as a photo-op with the book’s photographer, Paul Smulson.

Whether or not you make it to National Tabby Day's event at Bideawee on April 30th, pick yourself up a copy of Making the Most of All Nine Lives; The Extraordinary Life of Buffy the Cat, today.  You'll absolutely purrrrr with delight!

(I received a free copy of the book in exchange for this book review.)

  1. My sis has a tabby, so I'll have to check that out for her! Looks super cute. The event sounds like fun - always something fun going on when you live in NYC!

And, yes, you need to tell the story of the cats liking the water more than the dogs some day!

  2. I should have added a picture of my cats at the lake to this post! I have a few. They are so funny. The belief about cats disliking water? Myth! When it's raining, my cats can't wait to go outside. The dogs? They want no part of it! ha ha ha. Stay tuned for the post about the cats at the lake :)
